August 10, 2011

we parked right on the edge of the Mississippi River

Gateway Arch

in the very small claustrophobic tram...it was a good thing there was air in them...only 5 people per tram

Notice we were 630 feet up

what the tram looked like that we went up to the top in...took 4 minutes to go up and 3 minutes to go down...which I was really glad

the windows that we looked down from at the very top

Gateway Arch looking towards the Mississippi River

looking down one of the windows along the south leg of the arch
We had a blast!
We had a fun filled day...when we got to St. Louis we walked around some and started to head to the Gateway Arch visitor center and it started pouring rain...so we watch a video of how they constructed the bridge, and they had a museum in there, and we rode the tram up to the very top of the arch...wow, alittle scary, but it was awesome...when we came down it had stopped raining and was sunny...we then went to an outdoor musical, "Bye,Bye Birdie" so the musical is from 8-10pm, so it is a 2 hour drive to Cape Girardeau, we got home at 12:30am...so it was a fun filled day!
