San Simeon

Today I took a picture of this with my phone and sent it to dad, and he text back and said "indeed yes, see you @ 2pm"
so off we went, drove on 46 west headed to Cambria...this is the winery that Jerry Grant works at "Niner" with the trees that look like a heart

Jack Creek farmers market along 46

@ the end of Moonstone Beach in Cambria

Zebras along highway 1...there was approx. over 50, the largest we've seen so far

they were between Cambria and San Simeon. closer to the road then we've seen also

San Simeon State Beach, across from the entrance to Hearst Castle

my favorite with the sun rays shining thru

actually wasn't too bad a shot from the beach with my little old camera...Hearst Castle

Sunset on the beach @ San Simeon

check out the crescent moon at the top of the picture
We had an enjoyable ride and a beautiful walk on the beach...we ended up coming home for dinner, which was okay, we had tuna sandwiches, cottage cheese and fruit, chips and soda...YUMMY!! anyway it was fun just being together and getting some exercise.

South Pasadena float, their float was "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade"

this was a van all decorated inside and out

it is called a Doh Dah parade the night before

this was my favorite float

another part of my favorite float

all done with flowers and colored rice & beans

check out the windows on the car...the car was done with colored rice

amazing the amount of flowers

they had an Oregon "Ducks" float and a Wisconsin "Badger" float, they were the teams that were playing at the Rose Bowl that afternoon...my little sister loves the Ducks

on the way home from the Rose Parade, it was so so beautiful

We left home around 8ish Sunday morning, and went to Tip & Patti's to pick them up...we cruised down Colorado to see the sights, people camped out, with their beds, BBQ's and TV's and radios, for the next day. Then we went and saw some of the floats, which was so neat...after dinner we went and dropped Tip & Patti off and went to our motel, which was 45 minutes from the parade, so Monday morning we got up at 5 am and headed back to Pasadena, where we met Tip & Patti again and walked the street where all the floats are stationed before they turn onto Colorado Blvd. It was fun, we got to talk to some of the people who rode the floats, and we were able to get pretty close to them...we didn't go down Colorado Blvd. too many people, so this next Rose Parade, we are planning ahead, and going the day before, earlier in the day, to see the floats and go the next day again...it was so much fun! Then on the way home we saw the most beautiful sunset around Santa Barbara, it was so awesome!
